Remember when Elephant Micah and Hiss Golden Messenger pulled the ol' songwriter switcheroo on ya? Well, keep your ear to the pod because here it comes again!
That's right. This month, step through the Portal to Palmyra for one more round of sun soaked versification by M.C. Taylor--rebooted in the Elephant Micah style!
This time, EM harks back to Taylor's work with the Court and Spark, the band that transmogrified to become the Hiss we know and love today. The song's called "Sundowner, You," and it's a hit. Check it out.
I got a hand making this track from a couple of the ringers who loom large in the Hiss band. Scott Hirsch played bass and mixed. Matt Douglas played saxophone. Thanks y'all!
In case you missed it, here is Hiss’s latest cover of EM:

Now, take a deep breath, and sonify Palmyra in the mind's ear.
I might need you to carry me.
I might need you to carry me.
I might need you to carry me.
Emerge from the imaginary Palmyra prepared to carry and to be carried.
Apply teachings of interconnectedness to the global circulation of human persons.
Repeat.
